Kersti has a passion for giving back to her community; she has worked in the Childcare industry since late 2013, having the opportunity to engage children and provide the best learning experience for her young students in the Pierce County area. She has worked with all ages, infants through Pre-K, and enjoys the warm feeling of watching them grow into future leaders of society. She has a lifetime goal of serving in law enforcement and one day opening her own youth program for juvenile delinquents to help prepare them for life after incarceration so they don’t return to the negative influences. She wants to provide direction, support and love to the youth that hasn’t quite found their calling or what God’s purpose is for them.
When Kersti isn’t working at Emmanuel Lutheran Church as the Childcare Director, she is serving as a Community Service Volunteer for Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. She is a public face of the department at many community events; the Washington State fair, Touch the Truck, and Smoke Detector Saturdays to name a few of her favorites. Kersti is also a SafeSitter instructor, Medical Explorer advisor and works Rehab on most major fires within the district. During Kersti’s downtime, she enjoys time with her family and friends. She loves exploring new places and being outdoors whether it’s a nice hike here in the Pacific Northwest, kayaking the calm waters of the Puget Sound or camping near the mountains. She also loves sporting events, staying home and watching movies, playing board games with family and learning a new German dessert recipe.
Kersti loves sharing the gospel with those who haven’t yet found God themselves, just as someone had done for her.
